In this talk i remember that he talked about how he was not good at law school and barely passed. He then started talking about how he never used law school. He then starts talking about how we should use things for all kinds of purposes and just not the stuff that they are supposed to be used for. He then talked about how the right side of your brain should be used more because it is the creative side. He said this is what buisness need to do. They need to start using things and making them creative instead of just doing them for what they are.

I chose this article because i thought it was very intresting. What is in the article is pretty shocking to me. Answer-I have not used google wave yet so i am not exactly sure but i think there is not much of a difference.

Answer-No they are not. But they are trying to get as many people to use thier application as possible

the number one thing that you want is for people to use your website. You want as many people as you can to use your website no matter what it takes. This might even require that you have to compete agaisnt other websites for users. One thing in this article that was intersting was that all these websites are competing, but some of them need other websites to help power them. The way most people get to twitter is from googling it. Because of twitter people are using google. So its funny to me that your competitors also can be your providers in some scenarios.

personally i think that google dashboard goes to show how far the internet is expanding. The fact that you can look at months and months of web history sounds baffling to me. The computer knows just about everything you have done on it for months and months

This class has really opened my eyes up so far and taught be just how much social networking is bieng used nowadays. Social networking is slowly becoming a national phenomenon and soon everybody will be using. It is even bieng used for little things like in clay shirkys book. They used the power of social networking to find ivanna's phone. Before social networking the most you could do in a predicament like this was to post flyers or tell people orally that you have lost your cell phone and you would like to get the word out that it is lost and you need it back. The power of a website helped her get her phone faster then any flyer could by far.

I think that people truly do not vaule the internet for how important it is. I mean we would not even have this class if it were not for the internet. The internet is used by so many people for so many diferent reasons that personally i think if there were no internet i might even go as far as to say the world would go into a little bit of a depression or a turmoil. Things like online banking, shopping and everything would not be availble. My grandmom is in a wheelchair and pretty much does everything from the internet. Banking, food shopping, clothes shopping christmas gifts everything she does if off the internet.

When a airline broke a mans gutair he did something as simple as make a youtube video about it and he got tons of hits and views from it.

Social networking is a very powerful tool. It can be used in many effective and productive ways. It is a much more effecient way to spread your ideas and get yourself known out there. It is a way to let people know what you are thinking and your outlook on things. You could say that the internet is "in" right now. Everybody is using the internet for everything and social networking is proably the thing being most used. Instead of rock bands putting up flyers around cities and suburbs they are now just tweeting about it and making events on facebook about thier concerts. Social networking is taking over and pretty soon it will be the only way people are expressing thier opinions

considering how big china is i find it intresting that they can moniter what all those people post and say on the internet. You would think that for such a big place they would not be able to come anywhere near close to monitering what all those people say and do on the internet. I also find it intresting that with all those people nobody has found a way to hack through their system. Even if they have China has found out about it and created a new way to block them. I would think it would be even hard for even asia or russia to moniter this. They have taken it so far that i am sure china has blocked vital information that people have tried to post about china

the internet is already a astounding invention. If another planet had humans and they were to come to earth and use the internet having never use it before, i would bet just the things that they were intrested in they could surf on the internet for years and years. There are so many things that could be added between now and 5 years could be enough for us to complety forget about facebook and twitter. Mr. Schmidt made some very intresting points. Just about everything that he said i agreed or strongly agreed with. The amount of applications that there could be could be endless. I am excited ot see what the internet could be in 5 years.

Microsoft, Google and the Bear

I strongly agree with this meataphor. I think of microsoft and google as the people. They are trying to run away from the bear before it catches them. I think of the bear as failure. The person who gets away futher from the bear has the better product because it is futher away from failure. I also do question wheter google is trying to make a good product or if they are just trying to make something better then microsoft can make simply to compete with them. They know that there are flaws in thier phone but instead of fixing them they are really just trying to make thier problems less of a big deal then microsofts problems are.

i liked the book so far. It was very intresting. I liked how they could take a topic so simple such as leaving someones phone in a taxi cab and turn it into a intresting story. I also liked how the person who found it pretty much used every type of social networking possible to get the word out about how the phone is lost. I think it is amazing how the only method of telling people the phone is lost is that they used social networking and already millions of people can find out about the phone.

If there was none of this social networking the phone would have most likely stayed lost and they would have not known where or who had thier phone. They would have not known if somebody stole it or not or what they do to it. Because of social networking they can communicate and let each other know what happened to the phone and where they can retrive their phone from.

im sure this would not have been possible ten years ago. things are spread over the internet so fast now a days that it can be spread all over the world in a instance. With all these new sites like youtube, twitter and all these blogging sites voicing your opinion is much faster and easier to do then it was ten years ago.
yes they do pay attention. There goal is to satisfy there people and if they see that someone seems unhappy about thier actions then they will try to do something about it. companies are so worried about thier image that they will do anything to make sure they look like a good company
they proably have certian people that they pay to make sure they have a good public image just like they do for everything

The book tribes was a very intresting book. I have never really read this kind of book before. The points that it made were very repitive which made the book somewhat hard to focus on. It talked about bieng the leader of your tribe. Leading the group of people that followed you and bieng a succesful leader. Leading your tribe is important. Doing something for your tribe if you are the leader is important also. Joel Spolesky is a example of a good tribe leader because he created something which was his software and had people follow him. Overall i think this was a good book. I would reccomend the book for people to read. Even though it restated its points alot i still think its points were valid and it was a good book
